We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but it can be boring to eat the same old thing every day. To mix it up a bit (and still be healthy), we are sharing our top 10 ideas to get your day started on the right foot.

 

1. Oatmeal: Oats are rich in dietary fiber that is known to lower bad cholesterol. It is also filling and serves as a hearty power food when topped with fruit and some nuts.

2. Yogurt with granola: Plain yogurt is a great breakfast option that is packed with protein. Stick to the no-sugar varieties and top it with some 

3. Fruit bowl: Fruits like berries are a great source of fiber and antioxidants that can not only ward off free radicals but can also give you a natural burst of energy.

4. Whole wheat bagel: If you are super hungry, a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and lox is a great way to start your day.

5. Cereal: A lot of cereal is packed with sugar. Stick with the low-to-no-sugar varieties and add some low-fat milk for a dose of protein.

6. Banana with peanut butter: This combo is a nice savory/sweet breakfast idea that is packed with protein and potassium. 

7. Green smoothie: Then there are the times that you aren't hungry and just want something to drink. Stay away from the OJ and have a healthy green juice with kale, coconut water, blueberries and avocados. 

8. Avocado toast: A fun adult toast to try is to slather it up a slice of wheat bread with avocado and chia seeds. Sprinkle on some lemon juice and a little salt for a really nice breakfast.

9. Eggs with fruit: Enjoy eggs in the morning as a good way to get a dose of protein. Include fruit for a complete meal.

10. Cheese and crackers: While this isn't your typical breakfast it is one that contains a great source of fiber and protein to help you start your day.
